Writing and Meeting our Learning Goals

Every time we engage in Independent Writing, our teachers give us a specific goal to work on. We then have to check our work to see if we have achieved that goal. Can you check and see if we have reached them??

Here are some examples:
Learning Goal - To use spaces between our words.

Learning Goal - To use adjectives (descriptive words) in our writing.

Learning Goal - To use write a recount that tells When (time the event happened), Where (the setting of the recount) and Who (who were we with)

As you can see, we have come a long way from the days when we didn't know our letters, sounds or sight words. Every day we become more creative and greater risk takers. We work on our sight words, sounds and letters everyday. Everyday we look forward to our next writing challenge. Our favourite is still Friday Free choice writing. Maybe you could practise writing with me at home and make sure that I am learning my sight words and sounds. Once I know them, I need to be able to put them in a sentence and recognise them in different places and contexts.
